Wake Up with Patch: Farmers Market and Pantry Suspects Go to Court

A look at some important information and events to know about on Tuesday, March 1, 2011.

1. Indoor Farmers Market Today

While spring is on the horizon, the Pepsico Farmers Market will still be held inside today at 800 Anderson Hill Road in Purchase. For more info, visit the Pepsico Farmers Market Facebook page.

2. Christmas Project Donations Went to the Right Hands

Yesterday Harrison Patch featured an article about the sent to the Harrison Food Pantry. Katherine Frankel, who was one of the main organizers of the holiday fundraiser, confirmed with the food pantry Director Nina Marraccini that the donations and $20,000 reached their intended recipients.

3. After the Rain Comes Sunshine

While yesterday wasn't pretty, it looks like we will welcome March with a pleasant day. The National Weather Service predicts brighter skies, with a high temperature around 41 degrees.

4. Six Accused in food pantry theft due in court today

The six Harrison town employees who are due in town court this morning.

Harrison Public Works employees Joseph Arcara, 54, his cousin Jack Arcara, 48, and Adam Straface, 26, turned themselves in to police on Feb. 15, along with Florence D’Imperio, 91, her son William D’Imperio, 51, and Sherry Toplyn, 58.

All have been charged with petit larceny. We will have updates from town court as they become available.
