UPDATE: Weather Related Delays Likely Tuesday Evening

Highways and parkways throughout lower Westchester are reporting delays as water overflow challenges Tuesday commuters.

Tuesday's heavy rainfall has backed up traffic on several highways and intersections around Harrison and will likely make the evening commute difficult in several areas.

The following delays have been reported by the Hudson Valley Transportation Management Center:

  • I-95 Exit 18A onto Fenimore Road has been closed because of flooding on the exit ramp.
  • Avoid the Hutchinson River Parkway between the Cross County and Exit 7 (Boston Post Road) all lanes are closed due to flooding.
  • The Saw Mill River Parkway is closed in the area of Exit 22. Both lanes are closed due to flooding.
  • The Saw Mill River Parkway is also closed near Exits 13, 16 and 20 due to flooding.

The National Weather Service has reported that it expects rain to last into Wednesday morning, with between a quarter and half-inch of new rainfall possible by this evening. That, paired with expected 24-29 mph wind gusts, could bring down trees and power lines.
