This Week: Cheer Goes to Nationals, Storm Costs an Interesting Arrest

On Monday Patch columnist Katherine Frankel brought us the touching story of Mary Kaczmarek, a and Harrison resident. Kaczmarek has lived in Harrison since the years following the war, raising her family in the wake of a tragic childhood.

The price of this winter's winter weather is beginning to pile up, as are parking and driving issues throughout Harrison. This week ranging from parking to narrow streets to , as well as the cost of these issues.

In sports, the Harrison cheerleading team is in Florida this weekend. The Huskies have made it to the national stage five times before, but have never reached the second day of the tournament. We wish the girls the best of luck, and will have results back next week.

Our Harrison Patch athlete of the week this week is two-sport varsity athlete .

Harrison police are who entered CVS on Halstead Avenue last week and attempted to obtain a cash refund for a television they hadn't paid for. Police also arrested a man who was allegedly urinating on police equipment behind department headquarters.

This was also our first week of Mom's Day, which will take place every Wednesday. Included every week will be a panel, which will be a weekly discussion for moms and dads about various parenting issues. There will also be a variety of other features throughout the day, so check back every week!
