Readers Choose: Best Place to Spend St. Patty's Day

Everyone's Irish this weekend, so where's the best local place to gather to celebrate? This week we will let readers decide.

It's St. Patrick's Day week!

While there are and larger events in some surrounding areas, what about those who want to stay close to home to celebrate? This week's Readers Choose contest asks readers to vote on Harrison's best place to celebrate the holiday.

We've picked five of our favorites, but write-in votes are welcomed in the comments section below. Let us know by Tuesday afternoon if we missed your favorite place and we will even add it to the poll.

Votes will be accepted until 9 a.m. Friday and the winner will be announced that afternoon. Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch.

The winning establishment will be handed a Patch certificate for being voted Harrison's favorite!

Our poll includes:

  • (97 Lake Street, West Harrison)
  • (110 Halstead Avenue, Harrison)
  • (73 Crotona Avenue, Harrison)
  • (235 Harrison Avenue, Harrison)
  • (7 Purdy Street, Harrison)
  • (309 Halstead Avenue, Harrison)
  • Oakland Grill (385 Halstead Avenue, Harrison)

Be sure to check back next week when we will find out who has the best bowl of soup in Harrison. (Send nominations for next week to zacho@patch.com.)

I think Uncle Henry's is the best place to spend St. Patrick's Day! They get my vote.

Hi Zach, Music is a must in addition to good eats for this special day so we are going to Off-the-Grid this St Patricks Day for good food, good company, good 'live' music and to have a great evening! We 'do' eat at most of the restaurants mentioned here, frequently & enjoy their food very much, but this is truly a fun event and music is a must! Love, Ada & Pat Angarano

I have gone to Uncle Henry's every St. Patrick's Day for the last 5 years! They have by far, the best corned beef anywhere.. and it's always a great time there! So much fun, can't wait for Saturday!

Wow, what an easy choice- UNCLE HENRY'S! Not only are they the best go to bar around, they do special occasions right! Trust me, you will not be disappointed if you spend your St. Patty's there. I wouldn't consider going anywhere else.

It really doesn't matter 'where' you celebrate St Patty's Day as long as you celebrate it at a Harrison Restaurant! They are all good & I guess this wasn't a fair poll to place because Harrison Restaurants "Rule", sorry Zach (: Happy St Patricks Day, Love, Ada
