Question of the Day: Do You Support County Sales Tax?
Gov. Cuomo signed a bill that allows Westchester County to continue to distribute sales tax funds to municipalities. Would you be happier without the tax, or is it money well spent?
In , political columnist Dan Wiessner discusses a bill signed by Gov. Cuomo that allows Westchester County to continue to disperse sales tax revenues to municipalities, which use the funds to help run local governments and schools.
The article notes that according to Westchester County Spokeswoman Donna Greene, only about $24 million of $112 million in sales tax revenues go to municipalities in the fourth quarter of 2010.
