Ice Age; Millionaires' Mansions; Help Bag Hunger

There is something for everyone to do this week in the Hudson Valley.

. Sept. 16. 1:30 p.m. The Ice Age comes to Katonah when the Katonah Museum of Art opens its "Ice Age to the Digital Age" exhibit this evening. On six Sundays, Blue Sky artists and directors discuss the ins and outs of story development, model making, set design, lighting and directing animated feature films. Talks are free with museum admission. Check the website katonahmuseum.org for schedules. Sept. 15. 10 a.m. Discover Historic Irvington And Ramble on the Old Croton Aqueduct Saturday, September 15, 2012. "Meandering Among the Historic Millionaires' Mansion" is a guided walk on the Old Croton Aqueduct. Parking in Mercy College parking lot. Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct and the Village of Irvington are co-sponsors of this event organized through the Hudson River Valley Ramble. In addition to the guided walk, Irvington's Historic Village Hall will be open from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. The newly restored Tiffany Reading Room will be on display as well as the Irvington Town Hall Theater. Costumed guides will be located at the Old Croton Aqueduct and Main Street intersection, to provide information to visitors about sites to visit in Historic Irvington. Old Croton Aqueduct maps will be available for sale ($5.00) as well as a free discount dining coupon. More information at www.aqueduct.org or www.irvingtonny.gov. Visitors may also see a new exhibit at The McVickar House, home of the Irvington Historical Society. , 555 Broadway, Dobbs Ferry. Sept. 16. Noon. Ronald A. Lipschitz, of American Legion Argonne Post 71, announced a picnic from noon to 7 p.m. of hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, chili and more. Dinner starts at 4 p.m. with chicken, steak, baked potatoes and corn. $25.00 per person. Children 12 and under are free. Beer, soda and water included. Sept. 16. 11 a.m. Catch the last day of the sale this Sunday, Sept. 16. More than 60,000 almost-new and out-of-print books, including best-sellers, classics, biographies, fiction, parenting, cooking, art, computers, humor, self-help, drama, religion, business and poetry. Children's books, DVDs, CDs, videotapes, books on tape, and sheet music also available. Sept. 22. 8 p.m. Irvington Town Hall Theater presents the fourth-annual "Best Of" Film Series opening night fund-raiser Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. featuring the film, "Neil Young Journeys" directed by Jonathan Demme.
