NWS: Flood Watch Through Saturday Evening

Heavy rain this weekend could being flooding to some southern Westchester communities, including Harrison.

Heavy rain, especially after 12 p.m. Friday, could bring more flooding to the area Friday night into Saturday, according to a warning issued by the National Weather Service.

A flood watch has been extended for Westchester County until Saturday evening. Here are the latest predictions from the National Weather Service for this weekend:

Friday: 80 percent chance of rain, between a quarter and half an inch of rain is possible.

Friday Night: 100 percent chance of rain, with between three quarters and one inch of rain possible.

Saturday: 80 percent chance of rain, between half and three quarters of an inch of rain is possible.

Those in flood-prone areas are advised to prepare to take action if needed, according to the NWS.

Please take precautions while traveling through the area this weekend, and remember not to drive over roads that are covered with water.
