Moms Talk: Yay or Nay for Next Year's Proposed School Budget?

How do you feel about the budget that school officials have proposed for next year?

Administrations from the Harrison Central School District announced this week that they plan to propose a to the public on May 4. As residents gear up to vote on the school budget, this week's Moms Talk asks parents whether or not they approve of the budget that the district has on the table.

While the budget offers a modest tax increase, some residents have expressed concern that school officials are unwilling to make the cuts necessary to curb more taxes. But other people are concerned that the laying off of teachers and teacher's assistants will reduce the educational quality in Harrison's schools. Several clubs and organizations in the middle school and high school are likely to be eliminated.

So, parents, what do you think? Has the school district done a good job of grappling decreased revenues and increased costs, or could officials have done more to avoid layoffs? Simply put, will you vote yes or no?
