Heavy Rain, Strong Wind Expected Tuesday Night

The National Weather Service predicts wind gusts up to 40 mph.

Be careful on the roads tonight, the National Weather Service is predicting dangerous driving conditions caused by strong winds and heavy rains expected to last into early Wednesday morning.

A storm system moving into the area is expected to drop widespread rainfall throughout the region, paired with wind gusts up to 40 mph, according to NWS estimates. Rainfall could create ponding and slippery conditions on area roads.

Total rainfall is projected to be between one-half and three-quarters of an inch.

The storm is expected to leave the area by Wednesday morning, when skies will clear with a high temperature around 42 degrees, according to the NWS.
