Plans Set for Great to Live in Harrison Days

Harrison Recreation Supervisor Gerry Salvo announces plans for "It's Great to Live in Harrison" weekend from Oct. 6 to 8.

One of the best weekends to be a Harrison resident is fast approaching and the Harrison recreation department has announced plans for this year's events.

The town's largest celebration will begin with an open house at the Harrison Police Department from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 6. The first day will continue with a fireworks display outside of the West Harrison Fire Department at 7 p.m.

The Harrison PBA car show will take place on Sunday, Oct. 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the West Harrison business district.

It's Great to Live in Harrison weekend will conclude on Monday, Oct. 8, with a parade down Halstead Ave. starting at 10 a.m. A festival at Riis Park will immediately follow the parade.
