Flood Watch Continues, Rain and T-Storms Expected

The cloudy skies and rain are expected to last through Monday before clearing out Tuesday night.

The wet weekend has extended into the work week, as rain and thunderstorms are expected to linger in the area until at least this evening.

The National Weather Service has extended a flash flood watch until this evening for most of the tri-state area, including Westchester County. An additional one to one and a half inches of rain are expected to fall in parts of the region by this evening, according to the NWS.

There is a predicted 80 percent chance of rain today and temperatures are expected to remain around 74 degrees. Thunderstorms are likely between 9 and 10 p.m.

More thunderstorms are possible Tuesday morning, but the rain should clear the area by Tuesday night, according to the NWS.

A flash flood watch means residents should monitor forecasts and be prepared to take action in the event of a flash flood warning.
