Faces and Places: Harrison Thoughts on State of the Union

Harrison Patch asks Harrison residents what they thought of the State of the Union.

President Barack Obama delivered his first State of the Union Address last week, and discussed healthcare reform, creating jobs and bank bailouts.

On an extremly frigid afternoon Harrison residents said what they thought of President Obama's State of the Union Address.

  • "I give him an A- . I think he was sincere and straight up. I liked the way he confronted everyone and added a better solution. I don't know of any other president who is sincere to everyone, Democrats and Republicans."

Ronald Grant, 44, a retired bus operator from the Bronx who was visiting his friend Eon Tiwari, owner of Redline Hobbies, a race car store on 218 Harrison Ave.

  • "It was awesome. I think he is an awesome guy. He is one person trying to fix damage that was done over eight years."

Vito Novello, 26, worker at Casa D' Italia Resturant  at 265 Halstead Ave.

  • "I found it very inspirational, he has a lot of work ahead of him."

Laura Mormile, owner of Blooming Buds Flower Shop at 373 Halstead Ave.
