Miss Anything? This Week in Review

A look back at Harrison news during the week of June 14.

A high school awards dinner, a high-profile court appearance and a couple of school concerts were just some of the stories that made headlines this week in Harrison.

On Monday night, the Harrison Central School District honored over 100 athletes for their efforts on varsity sports this year. The school also chose Ashley Marino and Dennis Rinaldi as its athletes of the year, capping what has been a great year in sports.

The school district also hosted a ceremony on Wednesday night, honoring all retiring teachers and 24 teachers who were approved for tenure.

In other school news, several students from Parsons Elementary School a charity that collects locks of hair for underprivileged children and young adults suffering from medically related hair-loss. The students had grown their hair since last fall.

Elementary school students from Parsons and Purchase also had their spring concerts this week, Purchase Elementary School held there's on Tuesday, while Parsons Elementary hosted their event on Thursday. Both concerts were at Harrison High School.

On Wednesday night, we heard about a large fire in a residential building that caused major damage. The fire was in a home on Puritan Woods Road and burned for about two hours, several area fire departments assisted in extinguishing the fire.

Stacey Pagli, who is accused of murdering her daughter Marissa Pagli in the family's apartment on the Manhattanville campus in February, was in court on Wednesday. Stacey Pagli's husband John Pagli was in attendance, but did not respond when a defense attorney requested that he speak with doctors trying to determine Stacey Pagli's mental state. The district attorney assigned to the case said in court that John Pagli does not wish to speak with anyone from the defense.

In local government news, PepsiCo hosted a public meeting on Tuesday night, where plans for an addition to the company's Purchase-based campus are moving forward. The Harrison Planning Board accepted an Environmental Impact Study submitted by PepsiCo, opening to door for further advancement of the proposed project.
