Miss Anything? This Week in Review

A look back at this week in Harrison news.

The devastating rain and wind storm last weekend and the power outage that it caused was easily the most influential event of the last week.

Thousands of residents in Harrison were without power at some point this week and outrage toward Con Edison during the process was inevitable. Some loudly voiced their frustrations, while others called for patience with Con Edison. Full restoration did not occur until Friday evening.

The town expects cleanup from the storm to last into next month.

In other news, representatives from Toyota came to the Harrison Police Station this week to look at the 2005 Prius involved in last week's crash.

Westchester County denied a proposed resolution to the affordable housing debate.

Meanwhile, three people were recognized for their work in the community this week. Daniel Rinaldi was named Harrison Patch's athlete of the week for his work with youth basketball. On Monday, Don and Jane Cecil were honored at Purchase College.

Pepsico and Purchase continued their debate this week over PespiCo's proposed expansion of their corporate headquarters. People who live near the building are afraid that increased traffic caused by an addition would change the rural atmosphere in areas of Purchase.

We finished off the week by taking a look at how the Harrison varsity lacrosse team is preparing for their spring season.

We look forward to following them, and all of the other Harrison sports teams this spring.
