Construction Project Begins Near Town Hall

The small stretch of Heineman Place, between the Harrison Town Hall and library will be one-way until a short project is complete.

A capital project, approved in last year's budget, will close one lane on Heineman Place for the next two weeks, making the road a one-way street for that time.

Workers are installing a new boiler for Town Hall that will be ready for this fall. According to Mayor/Supervisor Joan Walsh, who said her first year working for the town was actually the same year that construction began on the new Town Hall building, the original boiler is as old as the building and needed to be replaced.

The Town Hall building was constructed in the late 1970s.

The boiler and construction costs just under $200,000 and will not come out of this year's budget because it is a capital project approved in the past.

Walsh said that the street will be one-way, which it is every Tuesday and Thursday when Town Court is in session, for about two weeks depending on the weather.
