Con Ed: Hundreds Without Power in Harrison

Major outages reported downtown and in West Harrison, only minor problems in Purchase, according to Con Edison reports.

Hundreds of people in Harrison are dealing with a power outage Sunday afternoon caused by Hurricane Irene, Con Edison reports.

More than 340 people were without power at 12:50 p.m. near Shelley Lane and Stonewall Circle in West Harrison because of downed wires, according to Con Edison's outage map. At the same time 69 people near Old Mill Court were without power because of a separate issue. Another 11 people were without power along Buckout Road.

No estimated restoration times were provided.

Downtown hundreds of people are without power from Halstead Avenue south to the Mamaroneck border. Downed wires are cited for most of the issues there.

There are also minor problems reported along Purchase Street, where about a dozen people are currently without power.

Residents experiencing an interruption in electrical service should not call police, and instead contact Con Edison Directly at 1-800-75-CONED to report their outage.
