Community Yoga; Walking Tour of Brewster; Don Dupont Big Band

There is something for everyone to do this week in the Hudson Valley.

July 12. 8 p.m. Check out the jazz repertoir of Pete Malinverni, SUNY Purchase's incoming director of Jazz Studies and a regular on the New York City and world jazz scenes. Malinverni will present a free recital and lecture entitled "What's Going on Up There?" The night focuses on improvisation using his own compositions and works by Thelonious Monk, George Gershwin and others. Free. 735 Anderson Hill Rd, Purchase.

July 11. 5 p.m. A great night for the whole family, pack a picnic and head to Caramoor for a night of flamenco dancing with Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana, one of the country's premier flamenco and Spanish dance companies. Dance, interact with performers and have fun. $10. , 149 Girdle Ridge Rd., Katonah.

July 11. 7 p.m. Head to the Recreation Field at 200 S. Greely Ave. in Chappaqua for four evenings of free live music. The Don DuPont Big Band is up first with great dancing tunes from the '30s and '40s. Styles include swing, jive and Latin-style ballroom dancing. Free. , 200 S Greeley Ave, Chappaqua.

July 8. 9 a.m. New Rochelle photographer John Raiola's "Purple Reign" exhibit in on display at the Larchmont Public Library. The photographs are full-length, color portraits of varsity athletes from New Rochelle High School. The exhibit is free and open to everyone during normal library hours. Raiola was the chief photographer at Bacharach Studio, during which time he photographed the official portraits for Henry Kissinger, F. Lee Bailey and Ivana Trump. Free. , 121 Larchmont Ave, Larchmont.

July 10. 4:15 p.m. Cool off Tuesday at a pool party co-hosted by PJ Library and Ramah Day Camp in Nyack. Enjoy a free barbecue, singing, stories and, of course, some fun in the pool. Matty Roxx puts on a concert. Ramah's staff will be on hand. Lifeguards will be on duty, but parents are required to be in the pool with their kids at all times. RSVPs requested. RAINDATE IS JULY 31st. July 15. 2 p.m. Learn about the history of Southeast and Brewster on a walking tour. Bring your hat and walking shoes! Weekly on Sundays starting July 15. Each tour features a different part of the area's history, including 19th-century mercantile and agrarian industries, architectural history and stories of prominent local citizens. $5. July 9. 12 p.m. Join other members of your community for an outdoor yoga class (weather permitting) that caters to every level of practitioner. Monday is Forrest-style yoga, Wednesday is open-level vinyasa. $12. , 129 W Main St, Tarrytown.
