Churches Prepare For Easter

Local places of worship have planned services for what they say is one of the busiest days of the year.

Harrison's churches have spent the week gearing up for one of the busiest worship weekends of the year—the Easter holiday. For most parishes, the April celebration means packed pews and extended services.

"Our ordinary Sunday services draw a crowd of about ninety," said Jay Castelli, the minister of music at Of Harrison Presbyterian Church. "But on Easter, we expect about one-hundred and fifty."

Harrison Presbyterian's Easter service will also feature an expanded musical program.

"We'll have brass, woodwind, and an adult choir," Castelli said.

Reverend Carol Gallagher of All Saints' Episcopal is anticipating a full house, as well.

"After our morning services we hold a brunch and egg hunt for the kids," Gallagher said. "All Saints' is a small parish, and we're overflowing every Easter."
