Celebrate Bastille Day in Style at Rue De Crepes

With a selection of sweet or savory crepes, frites on the side or a glass of French wine, Harrison's own creperie offers a taste of Paris.

Glum that Fourth of July has passed? Don't be. Bastille Day is this Sunday, and just like America's Fourth of July, this French national holiday is marked by fireworks and parades.

Celebrated across France and by expatriates and Francophiles around the world, the holiday is known formally as La Fête Nationale. Bastille Day recognizes the anniversary of the storming of the fortress-prison Bastille in 1789. While in the US, the Fourth of July celebrates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, Bastille Day is likewise considered a symbol of the birth of the modern French nation.

With just a few days remaining until Bastille Day, why not immerse yourself in all things French. Don a beret and and a jaunty scarf, or better yet, consider a visit to Harrison's Rue Des Crepes for a French-inspired meal and transport yourself to Paris.

According to John who was serving late lunch on Friday, customer menu favorites include the jambon et fromage with gruyere or swiss avec oeuf or the turkey, fontina spinach – both from the savory column on the menu. In the dessert category,  apparently the simple "Natalie" is the popular menu favorite, served with with butter, sugar and lemon.

Between the varied menu and the broad muraled walls depicting the charcuterie, boulangerie and patisserie, evidence abounds as to why Rue Des Crepes garnered Harrison Patch's Readers' Choice 2012 award.
