Body of TZ Jumper Washes Ashore in Dobbs Ferry

State Police said it is the body of a woman who jumped from the Tappan Zee Bridge early this morning.

A body has washed ashore on the banks of the Hudson River in Dobbs Ferry's Waterfront Park.

The body has been confirmed as that of 19-year-old Elizabeth Lynch-Gonzalez, a resident of Shrub Oak who jumped from the bridge this morning.

"It's more than likely that it is the same person that jumped from the bridge last night," said Noel Nelson, an officer with the New York State Troopers who was at the scene in Dobbs Ferry.

The body was first discovered by a passerby who came into the Half Moon Restaurant to report the sighting. Dympna Broderick, an employee at the establishment, said the individual entered the restaurant at 11:15 a.m. and asked employees to call police.

Police said that recovery was aided by a smooth river and currents that were not strong.
