Beer Tasting; Westchester Pride; Nyack Film Festival

There is something for everyone to do this week in the Hudson Valley.

 Aug. 18. 9 a.m. Bedford Audubon’s annual autumn Chestnut Ridge Hawkwatch is now running. The three-decade old program takes place at The Hawkwatch platform, located at The Nature Conservancy’s Arthur Butler Sanctuary, and is open to the public and will be monitored daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Dec. 1, weather permitting. Prepare for the "moderately strenuous" 10-12-minute climb to the hawkwatch platform. Free. , 35 Todd Rd., Katonah.

Aug. 18. Noon. The Westchester Pride Coalition is putting on the fourth-annual LGBT Pride celebration at Ridge Road Park. The event runs until 8 p.m. Enjoy sandpit volleyball, outdoor games and a playground for children. This year's focus is a men's health fair called "Unzipped,” organized by the MSM Coalition and sponsored by the Hispanic Federation. $10 suggested donation from adults. Aug. 19. 11:30 a.m. Head to the Village Animal Clinic in Ardsley to hear veterinarian Lisa J. Donato speak to pet parents about the latest in holistic therapies for prevention and treatment of ailments. Donato will demonstrate acupuncture, chiropractic and other alternative approaches on a dog patient during the seminar. Following the hour-long seminar, guests can attend an open house to meet the clinic's staff and tour the facility. Aug. 21. 6:30 p.m. Get cardio fit any night of the work week with instructor Barbara Carlo. Free trial class available. Classes run Mon. and Wed. at 5:45pm, Tues. and Thurs. at 6:30 p.m., and Fri. at 6 p.m. , 278 N. Brewster Rd., Brewster.

. Catch the rest of the first-ever  film festival through this Sunday. A total of 18 original films from local and international artists are being showcased with a mix of documentaries, comedies, romance and science fiction. Award-winning films including A Girl, A Guy, A Space Helmet, and Alienated—directed by Paul Borghese and filmed in Piermont—starring Vincent Pastore from "The Sopranos," will screen. Purchase tickets for $12 online or $15 at the door. Aug. 23. 5 p.m. Enjoy a beer tasting at Goose Island, which will showcase its porfolio of Craft Ales. The Chicago-based brewery makes wheat beers, IPAs and Belgian-style ales. , 176 New York 304, Nanuet.
