Air Quality Alert in Effect for Westchester

Strenuous outdoor activities should be limited for those sensitive to polluntants.

The National Weather Service in New York has forecast sunny skies and widespread haze for Wednesday in Harrison. The temperature could reach 93. Winds will be out of the west between 6 and 9 mph.

The state Department of Environmental Conservation issued an air quality alert for Westchester County in effect from 2 p.m to 10 p.m. Wednesday, meaning ozone levels will be elevated. The state Department of Health recommends limiting strenuous outdoor activities if people are sensitive to the effects of elevated pollutants.
