A Family Snow Survival Guide

Check out our list of five things to do on a snow day.

Now that Harrison is covered in more than a foot of snow, making traveling close to out of the question, what can you do to entertain the kids? Here is Harrison Patch's list of  fun and free snow day activities.

Build a snowman or a snow fort—Create a classic carrot-nosed snowman or an entire family of snow people. Get the best snow fort on the block with this step-by-step guide.

Make some arts and crafts—Get a head start on creating decorations for next year's tree, by making a snowflake from a doily or a potato. 

Go sleigh riding—Grab a toboggan and head down your hill or your neighbor's. If your streets are safe enough, head to your favorite sledding spot like the Battle of White Plains site in West Harrison or  on North Street in nearby White Plains.

Bake—Though you've likely stuffed your face all weekend long, there is always room for more! Kids love to be on hand in the kitchen to make their own tasty creations. Here is a recipe for a .
