5 Things to Know: Harrison Daily Guide Dec. 7

An indoor farmers market, a free discussion on teen body image, a public speaking workshop and a performance of renaissance music at HHS will all take place today.

1. manhattanville college cabaret performance

's cabaret performance class will perform in Reid Castle Tuesday evening from 8 - 9:30 p.m.

The performance will take place in the West Room and is free and open to the public.

2. Indoor Farmers Market Adds 'Picklelicious' Vendor

The Pepsico Farmers Market is going strong despite the onset of cold weather. Support local farms and businesses and pick up your produce, soaps, breads and poultry.

The market has also added a new vendor: Picklelicious Olde Tyme New York Style Pickles, based in New Jersey. Picklelicious not only offers the obvious pickles, but other pickled vegetables, as well as olives and sauces.

The Pepsico Farmers Market is held at from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

3. Free Discussion on Teens, Body Image and Eating Disorders

New York Presbyterian Hospital's Westchester Division (21 Bloomingdale Rd. White Plains) will host a free discussion entitled, "," Tuesday from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m in the auditorium of NYPH's main building.

NYPH Director of the Center for Eating Disorders Evelyn Attia, M.D. will join Harriet Brown, New York Times contributing writer and author of "Brave Girl Eating: A Family's Struggle with Anorexia" in discussing issues related to teens, body image and eating disorders.

This discussion is free and open to the public. No advance registration is required.

4. Harrison High School Renaissance Festival

The Chorus will present its annual Renaissance Festival tonight at 7 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center.

The performance will feature student madrigal singers, actors, musicians and artists.

Tickets are $8/adults and $5/kids and seniors.

5. Hone Your Public Speaking Skills at Toastmasters Workshop

is a bi-monthly program held at the Leo Mintzer Community Center in Harrison. Tonight's workshop is from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m.

Toastmasters helps participants develop their public speaking skills, develop leadership qualities in a casual atmosphere.
