What's New, Fresh and Delicious?!

Farm fresh eggs and made-today-fresh mozzarella!

I am so psyched about the new products we will be carrying at the West Harrison Framers Market. First, we now have farm fresh eggs from Arch River Farm; a farm in upstate in Millbrook, NY. There is nothing like fresh eggs. A friend of mine decided to build a chicken coop and raise chickens so she would have fresh eggs daily. The taste and richness of fresh eggs is so delicious: it makes scrambled eggs a gourmet breakfast. We are fortunate to add Arch River Farm’s eggs to our list of products.

Second, finally we have secured a cheese maker now provides us with fresh mozzarella that is made every morning. This is so good, so tasty, it stands alone on a slice of toasted baguette; and with a drizzle of olive oil, it is sublime! In addition to this, we also will have smoked mozzarella. This is so good: I love this shaved with a micro-plane grater over a dish of hot penne with either marinara sauce, or filette di pomodoro. Oh my goodness, it is so delicious.

Yes, we have whittled down to a few vendors. Unfortunately, since our turnout has been slight at best, some of the vendors that have to travel a distance have opted out our market. However, we still have several good vendors. Omar has excellent produce. His tomatoes are great, as are his fruits and veggies. I often send people to him after they purchase a baguette or ciabatta rolls from me. Meredith’s Breads still comes with a selection of different breads and muffins and, hopefully, Dr. Pickle will have a person to work the stand. Dolce Denise will always be there with cookies, breads and now Italian breads (house bread, large round loaf: baguettes, multi-grain, sour dough and plain: and ciabatta rolls.)
