New Organic Farm at the West Harrison Farmers Market

What is new at the West Harrison Farmers Market.

I am looking forward to a nice, cool day this Saturday. I love this time of year: the colors, the cooler air, people come out and mingle, it is just a nice time to market!

This Saturday at the farmers market we will be sharing the village green with the I Make A Difference Fair. This is a fundraiser that will benefit different organizations for the children of Harrison. Please come out to show your support!

The West Harrison farmers market has a new organic vendor, Greenleaf Gardens. Inc. They will be at the IMAD Fair doing a demo, as well as having their booth at the farmers market. Greenleaf Gardens, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization based in Westchester that implements edible gardens and sustainability education in schools, prisons and special needs residential facilities in Westchester and Rockland County.

This is a wonderful organization and we are very fortunate to have them as part of the West Harrison farmers market. The produce is lovely and their herbs are beautiful! I had the pleasure of having my booth next to their's last Saturday and the fragrance of fresh basil kept me longing to be in my kitchen at the stove with a big pot of simmering tomatoes! Please take a moment to check out their website: Greenleaf Gardens Inc. www.greenleafgardens.org.

I want to thank those of you who come and support our farmers market and take advantage of the beautiful produce, breads, pickled vegetables and baked goods. If you have not made it to the WHFM this summer, please come down this weekend. Look for the balloons! We would love to have you!
