Harrison Students Bake for a Cure

Cookies, cupcakes and brownies on hand over 20 groups of children nationwide took to the streets and fields on Saturday, May 17th for the 2nd Annual Pediatric Cancer Foundation GIVE HOPE BAKE event.

Event organizers, Noah (17), Zoe (16), Sophie (14) and Josh (13) Mittman of Purchase helped lead several groups here in Harrison.  100% of the proceeds from this all children-led event will go to purchase equipment for world renown doctors.  PCF’s mission is to find a cure for childhood cancer and provides money to doctors for research, treatment, equipment and patient care.   With first hand experience watching his mother run many PCF events herself, Noah, a senior at HHS commented “My siblings and I realize how fortunate we are.  After hearing and seeing the plight of so many children with cancer we decided we needed to do something ourselves to give back.”  His younger sister Sophie states “We know our efforts are helping kids just like ourselves who are not in the position to help them selves currently.  We are already planning the 3rd Annual Give Hope Bake to be bigger and better.”   To make a donation, run your own bake sale or to get involved log onto www.pcfweb.org or call 914-777-3127
