KIDS HELPING KIDS-Caring Kids Club at Purchase School Becomes Sea of Blue to Fight Pediatric Cancer

On Friday, May 2, Purchase School once again became a wave of blue to help children with cancer.  As they have done for the past several years, (led by their advisors Janice Varmon, Ellen Ann Hintermeister, Anne Abrams and Robyn Levy) the Caring Kids Club put in a huge amount of effort and energy to raise money for Pediatric Cancer Foundation.  The kids hung posters about this event around the school and encouraged and explained to all of their peers the urgency of their mission.  They asked every student and staff member to wear blue (the signature color of PCF) and to bring in one dollar.   To date, the club has raised over $2000 for PCF.  The funds raised will go directly to world renowned doctors who perform research, provide treatment, purchase state of the art equipment and provide patient/parent care at area hospitals.   Stefanie Mittman, Chairman of the Board and Harrison parent, applauds the Caring Kids Advisors for encouraging the students to understand how and why it is so important to ‘give back’.  Mittman comments, “To instill the value of giving back at such a young age is remarkable and makes for a better world.”  For more information on PCF log onto www.pcfweb.org.
