Whole Foods Recalls Salads That Contain Allergens

Whole Foods has recalled mini Caesar salad and mini Mesclun Goat Cheese salads sold July 8 in three states — including Connecticut and New York — because they contain undeclared allergens of nuts, fish and egg.

People with allergies to these ingredients should not eat these salads as the may experience a serious allergic reaction.

Labels on the recalled pre-packaged salads were accidentally swapped so the salad marked Cesar contains undeclared nuts and the salad market Mesclun Goat Cheese contains undeclared fish and egg, according to a food poisoning.com report.

The recalled salads were sold in 4 oz. containers on July 8 in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The products have “Sell by” dates of: 7/11/14.

Not all Whole Foods stores in these states are affected. Stores in Princeton, Cherry Hill and Marlton, New Jersey  are excluded as are stores in Glastonbury, West Hartford and Bishop’s Corner, Connecticut. 

Whole Foods's Connecticut stores include locations in Greenwich, Darien, Danbury, Westport, Fairfield and Milford. Among the New York locations are Port Chester and White Plains.

Consumers who purchased the salads can bring their receipt to the store for a full refund.
