Reality TV? Let's Get Real-er

Reality TV is somebody else's reality, not ours. Look closer, and you'll find hyperlocal and other TV that's real-ly worth watching.

If only Andy Warhol really knew how much he knew about the art of the new.

The only real difference between his vision a half-century ago that the future would afford everyone “15 minutes of fame” and what has come to pass is … 15 minutes.

The typical reality TV show is 30 minutes, heaven help us. Or, better yet, heaven help those who “star” in these human zoos on parade. Oh, yeah, there’s another difference: even though it seems so, not exactly EVERYONE has his or her own reality TV show … yet. True, there’s YouTube, which, by the way, now allows each video posted to last – Warholy cow! – 15 minutes.
