The Orchards of Concklin Celebrate 300 years of Family Farming!

Before George Washington was born.  Before the Declaration of Independence was conceived. Before the American Revolutionary War was fought..... there was the Orchards of Concklin!  Three hundred years and eleven generations later, the Orchards of Concklins is reputed to be the 8th oldest family business in the United States.

Today, they continue the tradition of harvesting 20 variety of apples as well as, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, currents, gooseberries and cherries, then mid-summer peaches, plums, nectarines, corn and tomatoes which is followed by two months of apple and pumpkin picking. The farm never stops; apple cider, award-winning apple cider donuts, pies, cookies and cakes are in production all year long.  And they bring their fruit to you at 20 tri-state farmer's markets including, Rockland and Westchester.

On WEDNESDAY, JULY 4, 2012, from 1:00-6:00 p.m., the Concklins invite you to celebrate with them at their 300th Anniversary Festival on their farm located at RT 45 and South Mountain Road in Pomona. Admission to all activities is FREE: Music by the Walkabout Clearwater Chorus and The River Acoustic Band, square dancing with Pat Cannon, Storyteller Chuck Stead, farm tours, children’s activities and more. Grilled food by Chumley's BBQ will be available for purchase.  Their farm store and garden nursery will be open.   For more information or a schedule of events, visit their website at www.theorchardsofconcklin.com
