Harrison Council for the Arts presents “Struggle” photographs by Gary Spilatro at the Harrison Public Library, 2 Bruce Avenue, July 2 to August 2 with an opening reception Monday, July 9 from 7:00 to 8:30pm.
In Gary’s words: “I find the survival of elements in the struggle against one another something to reflect upon. Over time the growing element is deformed around, thru over or even to push aside the stationary element. Creating astonishing forms that will continue to evolve, even thru the decay of dead and destruction. View the shapes and forms that the journey of time has created.”
Gary Spilatro graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute in 1981 and completed his Architectural studies in Rome. He has a successful practice in New Rochelle, NY since 1994. His father was a professional Photographer for the Boy Scouts of America and introduced him to dark room and print making at an early age. Not until now has he picked up a camera again to capture the images that have intrigued him over the years.
The exhibit may be viewed Mondays and Wednesdays 9:30am to 9pm; Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays 9:30am to 5:30pm., and Saturdays 9:30am to 12:30pm. For info call 914/835-0324 www.harrisonpl.org.
