Harrison Council for the Arts Presents "Signal From Outer Space: Turn of the Century Artworks" by Danny Henderson

The Harrison Council for the Arts presents “Signal From Outer Space: Turn of the Century Artworks” by Danny Henderson, abstract paintings and drawings; mixed media compositions; and photographs at the Harrison Public Library, 2 Bruce Avenue, February 5-27 with an opening reception February 11 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Danny Henderson painted his first picture as an adult at age 35.  In his words:  “Art is many things to me; nowadays it’s even a wonderful way for me to meditate; I find the ability to become very focused in the creative process, while finding ways to express my feelings and thoughts, with lines and marks - from this comes a representation of a rather personal experience, which also reflects my efforts towards creating something memorable.”

For the past 12 years, Danny Henderson has taken classes in art and art history at the National Academy School of Fine Arts and Westchester Community College.  He participated in WCC’s Summer Study Program 2011 studying Italian Renaissance Art with visits to Florence, Venice, Pompeii, Assisi, Padua and Tivoli.  Danny has exhibited locally and in Canada and has won many awards.
