Harrison Council for the Arts Presents "Natural Fractions" Paintings by Lorie Gurian

Harrison Council for the Arts presents “Natural Fractions” paintings by Lorie Gurian at the Harrison Public Library, Bruce Avenue, Monday, August 6 to Friday, September 7 with an opening reception Monday, August 13 from 7:00 to 8:30pm.

In Lorie’s words:  “I have always been interested in capturing my love of nature through painting. I enjoy both traditional and abstract representations of nature. One of my delights in painting is to get up close and personal with often ignored aspects of the natural world. I also enjoy painting exotic plants.  My watercolors are very detailed, but I balance that work with broad landscapes and abstract paintings in all three mediums. “

Lorie Gurian is a retired math teacher and is now a full time artist. She lives in White Plains. Lorie works in oil, acrylic, and watercolor. She recently started taking classes in printmaking at the Westchester Community College Center for the Arts in White Plains. Lorie is a member of the New Rochelle Art Association and the Mamaroneck Artists Guild.  Lorie has exhibited and won awards in many shows in Westchester County, Connecticut and New York City.
