Wintry Mix May Make for a Nasty Night and Morning Commute

The National Weather Service has a special advisory warning about the storm sweeping our way from the southwest.

Cycles of snow, sleet and freezing rain could start this afternoon. Hazards include reduced visibility and slippery conditions on the roads. Drive slowly and proceed with caution, the NWS said.

The NWS posted a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.

Up to two inches of snow could accumulate overnight in the northern part of the area. The change to sleet and then to rain as the temperatures warm on Monday morning could make driving difficult, the NWS said.
