Pet of the Week: Garfied, 'A Really Nice Guy'

Based in Harrison, NY, the Westchester Humane Society is hoping to find a home for 'Garfield'.

Every Thursday week the Westchester Humane Society selects a pet that they think would be a perfect fit for an animal lover hoping for some company.

This week's pet in the spotlight is Garfield, a male, orange cat.

Garfield has the typical "nice guy" orange cat personality; he doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He's a very handsome redhead, and smart too—so no redhead jokes please! Garfield demonstrates a great temperament, is friendly, gentle and sweet, and considers all other cats to be his buddies.

He is overflowing with love and enjoys discovering new sights and sounds. He loves toys too, although he is a little short on them these days. Garfield is quite the chatterbox and will look you in the eyes while he lures you over.

Come and have a conversation with him! Garfield was shy at one time, but just loved people too much to stay that way. He desperately wants your attention, and will lovingly talk to you until he gets you to pet him. His endearing and docile ways can not be beat. This young adult is a staff favorite!

We've loved seeing Garfield blossom into a happy little soul. He now romps and plays with the best of them. Watch out catnip mice and jingle balls!

Garfield has been neutered, has received his yearly vaccinations and dewormer, and tested negatively for FIV/feline leukemia. He's good to go!  The adoption fee is $80.00.

Please come meet Garfield at the Westchester Humane Society, located at 7 Harrison Ave, Harrison NY 10528. The phone number is 914-835-3332.
