Got your sights set on the weekend? Here are a few ideas to get your planning started.

1. Great to Live in Harrison Weekend

Where/When: Sunday, Oct. 9 and Monday, Oct. 10. Harrison, NY

Why Go: The biggest local celebration of the year will feature events Sunday morning through Monday afternoon. Events are as follows:

  • Harrison Police open house at HPD headquarters on Sunday at 10 a.m.
  • Harrison PBA car show in West Harrison on Sunday at 10 a.m.
  • Fireworks at the West Harrison Fire House on Sunday at 7 p.m.
  • Great to Live in Harrison Parade along Halstead Avenue at 10 a.m.

Where/When:, 735 Anderson Hill Rd, Purchase. Daily.

Why Go: A truly unique exhibit will display cards and letters sent to the deceased founding patron on his 50th and 75th birthdays as well as new works of art.

Where/When: Halstead Avenue in Harrison all weekend long.

Why Go: This event serves as the kick-off for the Great to Live in Harrison program. Stores throughout Harrison will display Red, Silver, Blue and Green "Star" balloons outside their shops to indicate they have a special deal for the weekend.

Where/When: Playland Pkwy, Rye. Saturday, Oct. 8, from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Why Go: Spend the day by the sound while it's stille nice enough to roam around outside. The festival will feature a variety of arts and music.

Pricing: Free admission and parking.

Where/When: 175 E Post Rd, White Plains, NY. Sunday October 9, 10am.

Why Go: It's the last one of the season so you don't want to miss it!
