First 'Give to Live' Event Honors Joey Acocella Jr.

Friends and family honored Joseph Acocella Jr.'s memory with the first annual "Give to Live" fundraiser held Thursday night in White Plains.

More than 100 people attended the first annual "Give to Live" fundraiser in White Plains Thursday evening, honoring late Harrison Town Clerk Joseph Acocella with a night of food, dancing and other fun.

The event raised money for the Joseph Acocella Jr. Memorial Fund, which supports charities Acocella helped throughout the years, including non-kill animal shelters and Donate Life.

"It was a totally heart-warming community event that made everyone feel like they were part of Joey's family," said Harrison resident Ada Angarano in an e-mail.

New York State Assemblyman Robert Castelli read a proclamation from Governor Andrew Cuomo, honoring Acocella Jr. and thanking him for his service to the community.

The event was held at Mansion at White Plains, music was performed by Reunion.
