Award Winning Poet to Speak at Neuberger

Award-winning poet Anne Waldman will speak at the Neuberger Museum on Sept. 12th.

Award-winning poet Anne Waldman will read her work at the Neuberger Museum of Art on the campus of SUNY Purchase on Thursday, Sept. 12th at 7:00pm. The reading will be followed by a conversation with exhibiting artist Donna Dennis, whose installation Coney Night Maze, will be on view at the museum through October 13th.

Waldman's thousand-page feminist epic The Iovis Trilogy: Colors in the Mechanism of Concealment, won the PEN America Literary Award in 2012.

Waldman is a former director of The Poetry Project at St. Marks Church In-the-Bowery and co-founded The Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University with Allen Ginsberg in 1974, where she continues to direct its innovative Summer Writing Program. At the event, Waldman and Dennis, a friend and collaborator, will talk about inspiration and collaboration across artistic practices.  The event is free with museum admission.
