Harrison Teen Earns Eagle Badge

David Tolve, an incoming senior at Harrison High School, was conferred with his Eagle Scout badge June 22 in a special court of honor ceremony held at the Veterans Memorial Building in Harrison.

His parents, David and Patricia Tolve, as well as members of his scout troop, Scarsdale Troop, which is based at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Scarsdale, surrounded the teen as he received scouting's highest honor. Local dignitaries, including State Senator George Latimer (D-Rye), were also in attendance.

Like other Eagle scouts, David had to fulfill specific requirements before gaining the prestigious badge. That included earning a total of 21 merit badges, completing a service project, taking on a number of leadership roles within his troop and other tasks.

For his Eagle project, David, along with other Troop 2 scouts, constructed a memorial to the K-9 units that served the Harrison Police Department over the years. The memorial was erected at the entrance to the police department at North Street in Harrison.
