More than 60 newcomers were welcomed into the prestigious National Honor Society during Harrison High School's 51st annual induction ceremony.
The newly inducted members passed various tests of rigor. According to NHS advisor Jon Veenis, two separate student applications that included essays and a compilation of multiple and varied extracurricular activities were reviewed twice by a committee of five experienced teachers.
Students must carry a 90 percent weighted Grade Point Average throughout their terms, be upstanding members of the school community, and fulfill a service obligation consistent in theme throughout the year.
