Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D-Westchester/Rockland) announced two Small Business Assistance Workshops in Rockland and Westchester counties. The workshops will provide the opportunity for small business owners to connect with the Small Business Administration, representatives of state and regional Economic Development Corporations, as well as bank business loan officers and representatives of Hudson Valley area business organizations.
“In today’s struggling economy, it is vital that small businesses are given the resources they need to create jobs and succeed,” said Lowey. “These workshops will provide a forum for small businesses to learn about available resources, share success stories, and work towards sustained growth. I look forward to meeting business owners in Westchester and Rockland and working together to strengthen our local economy.”
The Westchester Workshop will be held on Thursday, August 16 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Westchester Community College, 75 Grasslands Road, Valhalla.
The Rockland Workshop will also take place on Thursday, August 16 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Clarkstown Town Hall, 10 Maple Ave, New City.
The goal of the workshops is to discuss the resources available to help small businesses grow. Admission is free, but advanced registration is required because of space limitations. Small business owners may register by calling Rep. Lowey’s office at 914-428-1707, 845-639-3485 or emailing Stephen.Papas@mail.house.gov.
