The HHS Varsity Football team visited the Cottage School in Pleasantville to delivery holiday cheer. Members of the team including the youngest members who serve as the team's waterboys spent the day with the children sharing a meal and organizing pickup football and basketball games. The Huskies played Santa and handed out gifts to the children, many of whom had never received gifts during the holidays.
Many of the children who reside at the Cottage House have suffered from trauma, neglect or abuse and are working with the loving counselors, social workers, and highly trained clinical staff to build on their strengths and resolve some of the family issues that made it necessary to attend the Cottage School.
The entire staff was very thankful and impressed with how the Huskies both big and small interacted with the children and both the Cottage School and the Huskies look forward to their next visit.
