Reaching out to children throughout Westchester and Fairfield County, The Children’s Hope Chest is asking kids to get involved in its first annual, “Recipe for Hope” fundraiser. The event will have children setting up bake sales across the county to raise awareness and support for children in need.
Recipe for Hope will take place on Saturday, Sept. 22. Children are encouraged to get a group of friends together to bake cookies, brownies, cupcakes, etc. and set up shop in front of stores, on ball fields or even at the end of their driveways.
They can register online at www.childrenshopechest.com to get a Recipe for Hope kit, which includes a t-shirt, Children’s Hope Chest brochure and sample recipes and scripts for their bake sale.
Children are also encouraged to provide a nut-free baked option. All of the proceeds from the bake sales will be given to The Children’s Hope Chest and used to support its mission of providing help and offering hope to children in our community suffering from poverty, abuse, neglect and illness.
To celebrate all of the volunteers’ efforts, The Children’s Hope Chest will be hosting a pizza party, complete with fun games and a DJ. The party will be heldat The Purchase Community Center from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
