Bill Charlap to Perform at Purchase; a Scotch Tasting; and a James Taylor Tribute ate Ridge Hill

1.) The West Harrison branch of the Harrison Library is hosting "Mother Goose" time this morning from 10:30 a.m. 11 a.m. Children up to age 3 are welcome to come sing, dance, listen to stories, and pop bubbles. The West Harrison branch is located at 2 Madison Street in West Harrison.

2.) New York state Assemblyman David Buchwald will have a discussion with senior residents at 2:30 p.m. today at The Bristal assisted living facility in White Plains, as well as older adults who reside throughout Westchester County, regarding legislative issues that currently affect them and their families, including health care insure options and housing options. The seminar is free and open to the public. The Bristal is located at 305 North Street.

3.) Aries Wine & Spirits in White Plains is hosting a private Single Malt Scotch Tasting event at the Omega Salon, located at the Westchester Mall in White Plains, today from 6 p.m . to 8 p.m. A special selection of Single Malt Scotches is going to be featured, presented by Tony Russo, owner and proprietor of Aries W&S, and Chris Riesbeck, national ambassador for Gordon & MacPhail. 4.) "Shower the People - James Taylor Tribute," featuring  the voice and guitar work of Neil Donell, is scheduled to take place 6 p.m. today at Westchester's Ridge Hill, located at 1 Ridge Hill Rd. in Yonkers. Donell's performance will be a faithfully rendered presentation of more than two dozen Taylor classics including the iconic “Fire And Rain” and Carole King’s “You’ve Got a Friend.” 

5.) Two-time Grammy nominee Bill Charlap and his wife, the world-renowned jazz pianist Renee Rosnes, will present an evening of piano duets featuring standards from the American songbook and more during a free summer concert at Purchase College Conservatory of Music today at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
