What an important organization, and what excellent additions to staff! Particularly great to have aRead More bilingual/bicultural person working with families whose English (and understanding of this culture and its "highways and byways") may be limited. Your post has made my day!

You mention the ordeals of Afghans ... "victims of American retaliatory attacks" ... andRead More not a line about the sorrow fall-out of those families victimized in the WTC on September 11th. You confine your admiration to these two women who've behaved in a manner approved by you ... and suggest that is the model for other widows of that medieval-like attack. Last, our defense of our citizens may be "retaliation" to you, but to me it's actions in line with our Constitutional duties to protect Americans under siege. And events in Boston inform us that our vigilance and willingness to confront our enemies must expand ... lest we mourn more in the days and years ahead. It is far from over.

I do not understand what "dripping acrimony" you see here, Aidan, nor anyRead More "indictment" nor what "foreign threat" you refer to. The article certainly does none of this. How reaching out to help widows in a country that never attacked us, or searching for captured or murdered relatives might fit your comment is far beyond my understanding.

Dripping with acrimony and an indictment of this nation for protecting us all from a foreign threatRead More ... one that killed three thousand in a flash. Foul.

86%? All at the same time? No way. Society would break down because everyone knows "if MamaRead More ain't happy, ain't no one happy."

I was curious about the survey that said that 86% of mothers feel unappreciated. The only survey IRead More could find, by the Institute of American values, said that 48% of mothers feel appreciated most or all of the time. I only found a summary, but it seems possible that only 14% feel appreciated all the time - the vast majority have times when we feel unappreciated. Anyway, I liked the fact that this article emphasized things that you don't have to buy - I ended up finding a survey that the thing that most mothers appreciate on mother's day is having their kids make breakfast for them, or clean for them - something they normally have to do.

"Did you know that as many as 86% of American moms feel unappreciated? " Plucked fromRead More nowhere.

"When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said toRead More her, “Woman,[a] here is your son,” and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home." - John 19:26-27

Convicted of a Crime (misdemeanor or felony) pertaining to their trust as an elected or appointedRead More official and they would lose all benefits. Also their entire voting record would be expunged and Not counted as to their voted position. The Citizens cannot and should not be held to improper, tainted votes!

David: wonderful idea!!! Let's start with Benghazi Barack. He and Hillary have betrayed the publicRead More trust and have lied in a masive coverup that dwarfs Watergate. No one is above the law, not POTUS and not Hillary. Can we get these people jailed for aiding and abetting 4 murders? Thanks!

Congrats! I imagine that while you were running somewhere this song was playing: "Show me theRead More fever, into the FIYA, taking me HIGHER and HIGHER." Now that you're done the only question that is left is who's gonna play you in the lifetime movie version of this inspirational story? Gweneth Paltrow?

From what I know about the regulations in the United States, you cannot reintroduce the goods backRead More into the medical supply stream here. That has to do with our litigious ways here in this society. For example, 25 years ago hospitals would sterilize certain surgical items for use again in the sterile field. Now, due to numerous lawsuits that have been paid out by hospitals trying to gain ground against an almost immeasurable infection rate (US has one lowest infection rates in the world) any surgical item exposed to a surgical field cannot be reintroduced back into the medical supply stream. So, in the US those items were thrown away and buried in landfills or incinerated. So, if the choice is to throw it away and bury it, or send it to a country that can actually repurpose it...I choose send it. Just sayin'.
